Witnesses sought following Hamilton assault

Waikato Police are seeking witnesses to an assault that occurred in Hamilton earlier this week.

Around 2am on Wednesday 20 February a woman was assaulted while walking on Galloway Street, near Wellington Street.

The woman was initially walking on Clyde Street when she noticed a man wearing grey boxer shorts urinating in nearby bushes.

The woman continued walking down Galloway Street, heading south, when she noticed the man for a second time, now naked.

Upon reaching Wellington Street, the woman was grabbed by the man and indecently assaulted.

The woman kicked the man to fight him off and she ran away.

She has been offered support and Police are taking this incident very seriously.
